photo is a day after the other. <br\/>\nI did a quick style with the two strand twists in the front (four of them) plus two puffs at the back. The next day I took the twists out and have some curly bangs thing going on. I didn&rsquo;t touch the puffs tbh left them as they were.<br\/>\nThe last photo is after I finger detangled the entire mane and thought I&rsquo;d take a picture of the end result of the flat ironing. Basically, after I did the flat iron, I let my hair stay stretched for as long as I could, and still style it.<br\/>\nI washed my hair after that last pic. for those who didn&rsquo;t know, this year I decided to focus on protective styling and low manipulation styles. It&rsquo;s so easy to forget about your actual hair when you have braids or a weave and I promised myself I wouldn&rsquo;t do that. But wah the days went by so fast and next thing I know, I haven&rsquo;t deep conditioned in two months. I also hadn&rsquo;t had a professional trim in a long while so decided to straighten my hair and get one (the first photo is after the trim, swipe left to see the steps before). I did a deep repair treatment before straightening it and they used a leave in oil serum (that doubled as heat protectant; has argan,olive &amp; jojoba oil). Once everything was done is when I realised how dry my ends are, I&rsquo;m going to have to deep condition for daysss after my hair reverts. Also, no heat until probably November.<br\/>\nAnother thing, the stylist noticed the damage on my edges and suggested I chill on the braiding for about three weeks to give my hairline a break. So I&rsquo;m going to focus on my fave low-manipulation style (two strand twists). It&rsquo;ll also give me a chance to DC every week. <br\/>\nI&rsquo;m always talking about not getting comfortable and slacking with the mane, guess it&rsquo;s easier said done. MARLEY\/AFRO TWISTS<br\/>\n______________________________________________<br\/>\nI mentioned I got braids in a previous post. Well they&rsquo;re shoulder\/medium length marley\/afro twists. I used the same type of fibre I used to achieve the faux locs only this time we used two packets instead of three. The fibre is fluffy kinky which I purchased in Kenya. I&rsquo;m not sure about the colour I think it&rsquo;s #33 or something.<br\/>\nBefore braiding I did a simple short wash which consisted of a pre-poo where I incorporated raw honey and glycerine for the first time. These combined with aloe vera left my hair feeling quite soft. I then blow dried my hair myself (quite cautiously I might add) and went to get braided.<br\/>\nI love this style. It&rsquo;s not as cool and irie as the faux locs but it is definitely more versatile as I&rsquo;ve already done a couple of styles with it. It is also wayy lighter and thus way easier on le edges. One issue though, is that the fibre makes my scalp itch. It doesn&rsquo;t hurt or have any physical reaction to it, it just itches a little (I&rsquo;m sure others react way worse or not at all even). I noticed this with the faux locs as well but as soon as a little growth starts coming in it stops. I dont know if I&rsquo;ve mentioned but I&rsquo;ve seen people rinse kanekalon and\/or marley hair in ACV before braiding with it to take away the itchiness. I always say I&rsquo;ll try but I&rsquo;m either too lazy or forget. \u2022<br\/>\nShout out to @ntsakolucille for braiding my hair, she was awesome! She didn&rsquo;t take long (about three and a half hours) and didn&rsquo;t pull on my hair too tight. The first is the most recent and then the last is the day after I got them.<br\/>\nI&rsquo;ve mostly worn the style in some type of bun (either high, low, messy, space buns..) with different headscarves or without. I never really did a ponytail though, because of the length, they didn&rsquo;t look the best. I&rsquo;ve also been keeping it down sometimes or with the sides pinned or tied to the back. Which I didn&rsquo;t picture much but I guess I didn&rsquo;t take a lot of pictures in general. But I think these are enough to give the gist of the styles I did.<br\/>\nI&rsquo;ve had the braids for a month now, still don&rsquo;t know how long is too long lol. Like I said, the tightness of the braid and the temperature of the water matter. Because I was lazy and did loose three strand braids, the curls didn&rsquo;t last long. I rocked the twists straight either way. It was too short to put in a bun so I wore it down and accessorized with bandanas, headbands, beanies and so on. <br\/>\nThe photos are some of the styles, from more recently to the day I cut and curled the twists.<br\/>\nI&rsquo;ve taken the braids out now. But I also think the braids can last a little longer, don&rsquo;t want to take them out just yet.<br\/>\nSo I decided to curl them by braiding and putting them in hot water and then giving the braids a chop. I&rsquo;m not the best at it but I like to do it myself cause it&rsquo;s fun and also if I fuck up, I only have me to blame.<br\/>\nI basically did three strand braids all over my head. I used six braids per braid lol confusing but understandable yeah? I put them in hot water then didn&rsquo;t have a sharp enough pair of scissors so I put them in a bun for a day or two. I eventually got scissors and chopped the ends of each three strand braid (I looked like mungiki vi serious lmao). Then I unraveled them.<br\/>\nI like how I look with chin length hair, maybe I&rsquo;ll get a wig this shape and length. I also like the blunt look the ends have from being roughly cut. I think it makes me look edgy.<br\/>\n________________________________________________<br\/>\nUsing less strands for the braid will make tighter curls, also doing a tight braid makes a difference.<br\/>\nYou can also use thread to make braids curly and even perm rods or flexi rods.
